FINAL FRIDAY FASHION SHOW - VOLUNTEERS

Final Friday Fashion Shows have been put on hold until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience!

To sign up, email lee@mdfin.org with your portfolio and preferred dates. You may select any final Friday except Decembers.

Or, you may fill out the forms attached to the sign up buttons below.

MODELS

Models should ideally be 5'9" or taller with long legs, a short waist, and classic high-fashion facial features, though designers may make exceptions. If you are selected, arrive by 6:00 PM wearing basic hair and makeup for designer fittings and professional enhancements by our volunteer beauty team, followed by a quick runway lesson with Lee Andersen. The runway show runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, and tickets are entirely free for your family and friends.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Photographers should arrive by 6:00 PM to set up gear and test the studio lighting and backdrops. You will capture models during pre-show prep, live on the runway, and during dedicated post-show studio sessions from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (accommodating quick-change schedules). While candids are welcome, photographing models in a state of undress is strictly prohibited and results in immediate disqualification. All final images must be uploaded to the MDfin Dropbox and provided for free to all models, hair and makeup artists, and designers. Limited space is available for those bringing their own lighting, backdrops, and extension cords.

HAIRDRESSERS

Hairdressers must arrive by 6:00 PM to consult with designers. Be prepared to coordinate compromises for models walking in multiple shows or execute one-minute quick-changes (e.g., transitioning a tight bun with a clip-on fall). Stylists must bring their own hairpieces, falls, and wigs, though MDfin also provides about 20 studio wigs that must be kept strictly organized and separate.

MAKEUP ARTIST

Makeup artists must arrive by 6:00 PM to consult with designers and review lookbooks. Be prepared to adapt quickly for models walking in multiple shows, including executing fast touch-ups or makeup modifications during one-minute quick-changes. Artists must bring their own fully stocked professional kits and high-grade sanitation supplies.

BACKSTAGE DIRECTOR

Backstage directors must arrive by 5:30 PM to oversee the overall production flow, organize the dressing lineup, and manage backstage traffic. You will keep the run of show on schedule by cueing models and crew members in order, managing quick-changes, and ensuring a seamless transition from the dressing area to the runway.

SHOW SETUP VOLUNTEERS

Show setup volunteers must arrive by 5:00 PM to help prepare the venue, arrange seating, set up staging areas, and assist with general pre-show logistics. During the event, you will support the production team with crowd management, seating guests, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

DESIGNERS

Up and coming and student Fashion Designers are welcome to show their work on Final Fridays. Ideally you would have 5 to 10 complete looks to show. Please specify what type of clothing you create: Couture, Street, Business Casual etc. Specify the type of models you prefer -Ethnicity, female, male, androgynous, plus size, tall and thin...? You are also welcome to bring your own models and hair and makeup people. Everyone must be a volunteer or you are responsible for paying them.  The fee to show your work is $100. You may invite your friends and family free to the event. You may provide snacks and sell them if you choose, and provide alcohol but you cannot sell alcohol. Models arrive at 6 pm. The Runway Show is 7 to 7.30 pm.
